With modification, I got it to work
I called in before ordering to clarify how the male and female ends attached to each other. (In the past when I connected VGA M/F cables to each other it required barrel nuts. Then when I tightened up the thumbscrews they hit each other before the connectors were fully seated.)
The Tech (?) told me that on these you removed the thumbscrews on the Male end and then the thumbscrews on the Female end screwed into the Male connector and the connectors fully seat together.
He was wrong.
These are just like the others that I just described. So, I removed the thumbscrews from both Male and Female ends, cut them shorter and used the barrel nuts and now they seat fully to each other and work OK. But, I shouldn't have to do this extra work - especially on Male/Female cables whose purpose is to mate to other cables!
